Understanding Kumbhaka: Harmonious Breathing, soft Yantra Yoga and the Pranayamas of the First and Second Series will be used to understand, develop and increase capacity to apply Kumbhaka.
This course will use the system of complete breathing, the basic breathing used in the system of Yantra Yoga, using methods developed by Fabio Andrico and presented as Harmonious Breathing. (www.harmoniousbreathing.com)
Together with soft, and if necessary, modified movements of Yantra Yoga and the principle of working with prana, or vital energy, we will explore what it means to breathe, improve and train our understanding and capacity of breathing, and apply this understanding in simple movements of Yantra Yoga that can be modified and applied by people of all ages, body types and limitations, in order to more deeply understand and apply Kumbhaka.
This course is good for people who have been afraid to approach Yantra Yoga because of physical limitations, age or lack of experience and understanding. It is also good for anyone interested in improving their breathing, their understanding of prana and their interest in deepening the understanding and practice of Kumbhaka.
We will begin the weekend on Friday June 29th with an evening session of Harmonious Breathing from 7-9pm. Open to the public.
