Tsegyalgar East, based in Conway, Massachusetts, is the first North American seat of the International Dzogchen Community founded by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. It consists of a large multi-use building and adjoining Gonpa in Conway, and Khandroling, 220 acres of mountaintop land, in Buckland Massachusetts, offering members retreat cabins, a stupa, and the world’s first Universal Mandala for Vajra Dance. Khandroling is located 12 miles northwest of Conway, Massachusetts.
Tsegyalgar means, “Victorious Peak of Pure and Total Presence”, and is the second of eleven Dzogchen Community ‘Gars’ or centers worldwide that also include over 50 Lings which are smaller centers. Tsegyalgar later came to represent the Dzogchen Community of North America; Chögyal Namkhai Norbu established Tsegyalgar West in Baja California, Mexico, and the community in Conway became Tsegyalgar East.
